What happens with Kaspersky?

May 03 07 7:57 am

I use Kaspersky antivirus in my computer, but since friday my system became slow and the Kaspersky software goes down. So, I've decided to run a free scanning process available in a site called "infectedornot.com", and it found 4 virus in my hard disk.

Is there something wrong with Kaspersky?

Well, Kaspersky Antivirus Pluigin for WinGate generally scans HTTP, FTP and Email traffic, and can also do manual scans of drives or files.

So if these 4 viruses came down via a direct connection without going through a service that has the plugin scanning, then that could be a reason why they ended up on your computer. Viruses can also come from the local network or by inserting disks into the WinGate server.

Personally for my home installation, I have the KAV plugin scanning my drives weekly, and I use a free AntiVirus solution (currently AVG) for real-time monitoring of the server.
