Citrix VPN doesnt work after Antivirus plugin installed

Postby kesk » Apr 01 04 6:26 pm

Hi,

We are using Wingate for 3 years now. Due to the ever increasing threat of the virus, we installed Kapersky antivirus plugin for Wingate. It succesfully stopped the virus reaching the end user but at the same time stopped Citrix VPN software from reaching the destination.

I entered the URL in the allow list, but still could not access the VPN server. The error returned by the client is 'unable to connect to the server'.

Is there a way to configure Kapersky to allow this software ?

Thanks

Kaspersky should not interfere with the VPN. The only way for Kaspersky to be inbetween is if it is scanning the service that the VPN is passing through (Normally, HTTP, SMTP, etc.)

Yes, the VPN software uses port80, 1604, and one onther port for incoming and outgoing traffice. I have specifically openened the ports for this purpose. But still the problem exists.

Is is it because it uses port80,that the VPN is not working. What is the purpose then to 'allow' particular ip address in Kaperesky.

Can you pls clarifiy

Thanks

That's most likely your problem then, as it is going through an HTTP port (Which Kaspersky will scan). Where did you enter the IP Address ?

What you can do, is check what response is given back from Kaspersky. This will allow you to set a custom override that will ignore anything that returns that response code.

Alternatively, is it possible to change the VPN Client so it will not use port 80 ?
