Kaspersky license file expiring

Postby adrien » May 19 08 10:51 am

Hi

Recently one of the kaspersky labs licence files we shipped has expired, and will need to be replaced in order for Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate to continue to operate:

Background

Kaspersky Labs provides the software engine we use for AV scanning in the Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate product. Kaspersky Labs scanning engine requires a key file to operate, and this is only obtainable from Kaspersky Labs. Because of the logistics involved in obtaining a key from KL, we ship a single KL key for all installations, and control licence expiry with our own key, which we can generate when you place an order.

The KL keys work on a different basis to our activation keys, so they are good for 6 months shelf life, and 2 years beyond that. Normally this covers any subscription period, but as licences are renewed, a new KL key needs to be periodically obtained.

Steps

Go to http://www.wingate.com click on the downloads link, then select Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate. In that section you should see a download marked updated Kaspersky labs key file.

You will need to download this file, and place it in the Kaspersky Antivirus folder, under the plugins folder in the WinGate installation folder.

Then you will need to restart WinGate.
