POP over to IMAP

Postby cn1234 » Jan 19 18 10:51 pm

I have been using POP in Thunderbird for email and when an infected email comes in (when it tries to scan a zip file) it prompts under "Quarantine" tab that it is infected. Which is how I expect it to do. However, I have now moved over to use IMAP for email and I have noticed that Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate no longer is scanning the emails that come in. As I test I moved the infected message out (webmail - I keep 7 days worth on my ISP for backup purposes) and moved it back again and when it was on POP settings it stopped it from downloading so I could remove it from the webmail side (Don't ask why my ISP didn't report it - they say they have Antivirus running on their servers but it still allowed it through). What am I doing wrong that Kaspersky AntiVirus for WinGate isn't scanning IMAP emails now? Is it a setting or port? I have Antivirus on the PC as a backup but have I missed something when I moved over to IMAP from POP? Please advise?
