Kaspersky Updates

Postby JR Africa » Jul 24 18 1:32 am

Hi Guys

I have been an avid use of Wingate for well over a decade now and have decided to take the plunge and do a full upgrade from the ground up to the latest version.

I have a clean build on Win 10 Pro 64 and Wingate 9.2.0.5975 on which I am running testing to migrate from my existing server to this new one.

After installing Kaspersky 9.1.0.5945 I am unable to update Kaspersky to even get the Base installed. It throws a very similar error to what I experienced prior.
Refer : http://forum.wingate.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=52525

Unfortunately it is not a DNS issue this time (or it may be).

As per the log I see the first issue ? appearing here :
14947 2018/07/23 12:31:50.057 Kaspersky AV for WinGate 2708 update debug 1 updater core: Sending HTTP request

An HTTP response failure might indicate a DNS problem but I can navigate to dnl-06.geo.kaspersky.com no problem.
Subsequent to this I get :

I have attempted the following :
Given Kaspersky folder full access to EVERYONE
Checked that permissions are not causing problems
Uninstalled, stopped engine, reinstalled
Rebooted several times
Reinstalled as Administrator

I notice that the installation download has a suffix of (No Bases). Do you have an installation available with the bases (which may assist in this issue ) ?

Could you offer any guidance on how to get this going.

I have attached the full debug log for your reference.

Many thanks

Hi

Does your Kaspersky updater (the update settings) use a proxy?

WinGate > Control Panel > Kaspersky AntiVirus : Tasks: Settings, on the Network tab.

I'm trying to figure out reasons an HTTP download from the updater could get cancelled.

Regards

Hi Adrien

Sorry for long delay in reply but my forum account went haywire.

For some reason when I came back in to work a couple of days later the update had successfully gone through, and is now updating no problem.

So unfortunately no resolution to this at all other than to say - it's working now.

Weird.

OK thanks for letting us know - it may have been some issue that they (Kaspersky Labs) fixed on the server end.
