I think what they're saying is you are protected from external virus attacks.

Anything spread interally is not covered.

We protect the WinGate machine, and therefore protect you from the Internet. WinGate does not traverse the network looking for viruses on client machines.

However you can do a manual virus scan from the plugin in Gatekeeper.
