Administrating Puresight and other plugins remotely

Postby simon.fking » Apr 16 04 12:36 pm

Hi,

Over 95% of tasks performed on our server is done remotely, when I use GateKeeper to login, I can use it like I am at the actual machine locally, except with plugins.

For example I click Plugins and it shows

Kaspersky Antivirus for Wingate --- Could load not in GateKeeper
Puresight for Wingate --- Could load in GateKeeper

I run WinXP Pro, with WG5.2.3 (Build 901)

Thanks

Hi Simon,

With Plugins, they are contained in DLLs with a whole host of additional files required for them to run. (Third party components, etc.)

If you have the ability to run a mapped drive to the WinGate Server (Either through VPN or PCAnywhere) you can run GateKeeper from the mapped drive - in that case, you will be able to administer them.

If you do not, you could copy the Plugins folder from the WinGate Server as is to your local machine, where you keep GateKeeper. So it would say "GateKeeper Folder\Plugins\*.*". You would have to manually keep them in synch then, but it should be possible.

We are working on resolving this in the near future, have some exciting things planned for plugins.

Thanks Pascal,

I will be able to use mapped drives for the plugins. It is good news to hear that there will be some exciting updates for the plugins.

Thanks again.
