GateFilter mail scanning functionality has actually been implimented, however due to issues in the installer, it has not been selectable.

There is a work around available, and I will post this to the forum as soon as possible.

The officially released installer does not support this. You can add support through the following registry keys:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\Services\SMTP Server\Data Scanning Plugins

Then add the value "GateFilter" as a REG_DWORD with a value of 1.

Hello Pascal,

We are using Wingate 5.2.2 ( Build 892 ), Kaspersky Antivirus 1.22 and Puresight 11. I would like to know if above changes you mentioned to be done in the registry will work on our system. Our objective is to use the key words we inputted in the Puresight list so that emails ( mostly spam ) are blocked.

Please advise the best way of doing it.

Hi Salim,

The keywords apply to the source only. (E.g. the URL for webtraffic) There is no real equivalent for email.

What I'll do though is flag this as a feature request for our next batch of plugin releases.
