Puresite trial

Postby meason » Oct 15 04 11:46 am

I downloaded the puresite trial version and installed to a machine with an upgraded v6 Wingate proxy (4.x pro license). It appears to filter nothing at this point even with the banned list populated with keywords.

You need to (a) be sure that your client traffic is going through the WWW Proxy (b) that PureSight is enabled on the WWWProxy and (c) that the users are flagged as being scanned by PureSight.

If your clients are using the proxy OR if they are being intercepted (Redirected) from WGIC or NAT, they should show up in GateKeeper as HTTP connections, and PureSight will be applied for them.

Check the WWW Proxy's Plugins tab to see that PureSight is listed there and is ticked. If it's not listed, you might need to click "Rebuild" to have WinGate scan for plugins again.

Lastly, in the plugin configuration make sure that the users are enabled for use by the plugin.

Also, the ban-list is not for keywords (Page contents) but for URLs, to help avoid false positives and to provide pre-emptive blocking for pages you know is incorrect.
