Puresight 2 with Pop3?

Postby corcoran » Nov 03 05 9:42 pm

guys.

now that you've got a super-sleek version of puresight out, will it fit more snugly into pop3? surely with 12 types of classifications, you could just apply one type to pop3 and then build words, phrases, etc etc into it?

Hi

I wish.

PureSight ACR (which is the auto content recognition that does the actual scanning of the data) is solely intended for HTML content, and can only classify into 2 categories. The other categories are database based, and are therefore only based on the URL, which doesn't exist in a mail message.

There are some systems on the net, using POP3 proxying, that have good results scanning and blocking spam - notably Death2Spam.

Take a look at www.death2spam.net - we use it in-house.
