PureSight Logging Questions

Postby labull » Nov 04 05 1:01 pm

When checking the new logging feature of PureSight I was suprised to not only find that logging was enabled by default but that "Request Allowed" was checked also.

That means some very large files are being created that I wasn't aware of.

Also, while the username is listed for requests that PureSight has blocked, the IP address of the requestor is not. That makes it tough to track down folks who are mis-behaving.

The log states that the allowed requests were "Explicitly Allowed". Does that mean that somewhere that URL is listed as being OK?

Thanks!

I'll check the format of the log entries, we do know the IP in the plugin, so shouldn't be a problem (albeit a new release of the plugin though).

As for the "explicitly allowed" entry, that means that the URL was classified into a known category, yet that category is not blocked. This is as opposed to not being classified (i.e. no discernible classification).
