What happened to davanced server settings and CGI

Guys,

Under the proxy server setting pages, there is an option what to do with server requests, clicking the "web server settings" buton brings up a form which allows you to set the default directory/page etc.

According to the help pages (old and new) there is supposed to be some stuff related to CGI settings. This seems not to be there.

Has this feature been dropped, moved into the enterprise licence or accidently missed out. It would be a great help to me to have this as it means I wont then have to install another 3rd party product to provide the small intranet we run here.

It should be there. I'm not sure offhand though if it is Enterprise only - it's not listed as a limited feature on the list. (Refer to purchase page)

I'll check it for you tomorrow when back in office, but the easiest way to see immediately is to temporarily activate a trial license. That bumps you up to "Enterprise" then you can deactivate it again afterwards.

Is it the CGI / ext. to executable mapping side specifically you're after, or just a plain vanilla server ?

Thanks for the quick response.

I dont need the feature quickly enough to warrent installing a temporary license. If you caould as you said take a peek and let me know it would be obliged.

At this stage I'm just thinking about what to do and it affects whether or not I install a 3rd party server. I dont want to do that as its all additional loading on the machine and since I like wingate I'd sooner do as much through that as possible. I'll await your response tomorrow. (BTW, any chance of a network time server?? ;-) )

Hi Neil

If I understand your question correctly this is now called Server Requests in the configuration options of the WWW/Logfile services.

Open the WWW proxy and select Server Requests. At the bottom of the dialog is a button labled Webserver settings. Clicking on this will bring up the requested options your looking for.
i.e enabling of the CGI interface, CGI Directory, CGI URL Prefix.

Hi Neil,

It's controlled by the version of the OS you have. You need an NT based system to use this feature. Checked with Adrien, and the main reasons:

Security (User context, etc.)
Stability
Performance
