Wingate & Symantec SAV 9

Postby mediabyte » Oct 01 04 1:24 am

I have a customer that use Symantec Antivirus corporate and Wingate

I have upgraded some network clients with the new version of Symantec Antivirus corporate (9).

After the upgrade, these pc do not upgrade the virus definition file...

In the WG system messages tab there are no rows about errors

I use WGIC to autenticate users....

I have tried with WG 5.3 and WG 6.0

Any ideas???

Do you require authentication?

If so, you may want to add a policy to the Winsock Redirector Service to allow un-authenticated access to the EXE that is the SAV updater.

I'm not sure what the EXE is called, but if you add a policy to the WRP server, where username is anyone, user may be guest, and in the advanced tab, add a filter and a single criterion, where application = whatever the exe is.

This will grant un-authenticated access only to that application.

Adrien,

I have removed WRP authentication, but I have the same situation...

I suppose that WRP is not compatible with some Symantec program...

Programs used:
- LUCOMSERVER.EXE
- IAO.EXE
- XFR.EXE
- PDS.EXE (Intel)
- RTVSCAN.EXE
- SAVROAM.EXE
- MSGSYS.EXE

May be??

Thanks
