Hi,

If you want to restrict access to a certain site for all users, you can activate the ban list. On the users section, double click on System Policies then goto Ban List, check the Enable Ban List checkbox, and create a new policy with the Add button, selecting the proper criteria for the sait you want to ban.

Hope it helps.

What kind of criteria did you enter? Also, how are your client computers connecting to wingate?

On the users section, I double clicked on System Policies then went to Ban List, check the Enable Ban List checkbox, and under criteria I added the ip address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx of the server that i wnat to block... the rules says "if server matches ip address"

okay, the restriction seems to be properly set. You can try going to the services section, and double click on WWW Proxy Server. There, on the Policies configuration, in the box Default rights (system policies), select the option "Must also be granted".

I'm asuuming your clients are able to acces the internet, and you didn´t configure anything else on the clients (ie, you're using ENS-NAT). If so, you should be able to see, in the activity pane, when the users are accesing the internet. Can you see such activities?

Let me know it that works.

ok, if no activity appears then it means that your network clients are not accesing the internet via wingate but probably directly? You may have to configure your clients so they will use the proxy settings or the Wingate Client. How are the client machine's internet settings configured?

okay, so how is your network connected to the internet. A dialup acces, ISDN, DSL? Is the wingate server machine also de domain controller? It seems there is another service on the network providing internet access to your clients or they connect directly to your router. Check that your wingate server has a static IP, and maybe try configuring the proxy settings on a client (uncheck the autodetect settings box). The server name has to be the name or static IP of the wingate server machine. The port for most services should be 80. Once setup that way, every request the client machine makes should appear on the activity pane in wingate.
