Troubles with SMTP

Nov 01 04 4:08 am

I enabled WG SMTP Server on port 25. Then configured "The Bat" to use it as an smtp server. But it doesn't work. Here is the log.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*31/10/2004, 17:31:46: SEND - sending mail messages - 1 messages in queue
+31/10/2004, 17:31:47: SEND - connected to SMTP server
*31/10/2004, 17:31:49: SEND - sending message to ******@bk.ru
*31/10/2004, 17:31:49: SEND - The last address submitted was <******@bk.ru>
!31/10/2004, 17:31:49: SEND - Message has not been sent. Server reply - Service denied - your server lied to us
+31/10/2004, 17:31:49: SEND - connection finished - 0 of 1 messages sent
?31/10/2004, 17:31:49: SEND - Some messages were not sent - check the log for details

I believe the RFC for SMTP requires a FQDN for HELO/EHLO command rather than an IP address.

You may be able to get around this by unchecking "Block Numeric Sender Domains".
