hostory recording problem

Hi,
No history seems to be recording for me on wingate. Even when the engine is running i cannot see history being recorded, just current activity. it seems to be set to record the history alright. Also, i have a large cache.idx file, is there anyway i can view this to see a history of what has been viewed in the last week? busy trying to track what a praticular user has been doing. :(

From the sound of it those files are corrupted. Do you have access to another program that can access DB files? One option might be to copy them to another folder and try to open them then. (With WinGate stopped when you do the copy).

WinGate can then re-create the files while you try to see what's corrupted in that one.

hi Pascal, thanks for that, what other programs can open a db file? how can i get the history to start recording again?

Microsoft Excell for one. I suspect the files are corrupted, hence, moving them to another folder (As a backup copy, so you can still try to recover/analyse it) will force WinGate to recreate them; which I believe should solve your problem.
