Can't configure Wingate to work, help me please.

I bought Wingate license and installed WinGate 6.0.4 build 1025 and used it for a couple weeks without problems (with 256kbps DSL & static IP #), then i upgraded to way faster DSL connection (2mbps DSL but dynamic IP) and now not even PCs that connect to internet through my PC can't connect, but also I can't connect to internet myself, when Wingate is running.....

I don't really know what information to give you so you could help me explaining how to set wingate to work.

I run Win XP pro. All my network (cables and hub) is connected like it should, everything was working, just i need Wingate to start doing its job.

First of all make sure that the adapters are marked correctly - internal/external. Also, make sure that there is no default route configured for interanl NIC.

Local Area Connection is marked as internal
Dial-up Connection is marked as External

But i don't really know where to look at that there's no default route configured for internal NIC

Aye, got that, thanks - you have your internal adpater DHCP-configured - what is the DHCP server that configures it? The reason I am asking that is that you have default gateway configured on your internal adapter through 192.168.1.1 - this basically screws the routing and that's the reason you cannot connect.

Well, since i tried many combinations to make it work, i added everything that was possible.... :)

Ok, what you need to do is to open your system network configuration panel (OS configuration), untick "Obtain IP address automatically" and confiure all the entries there - IP address (192.168.1.1), network mask - then click OK and try connecting again.

ok, now it works and i'll try to adjust the settings so other PCs could connect.

But from what you see in the screenshot, is it all safe to keep those settings?

Well, if I were you would at least remove global (aka external) binding on this DHCP thing - that is if you need DHCP at all.
