2 part q-interperting log files and max size of http request

Postby masona » Jul 16 05 7:52 am

I'm looking to find out the lay out of the log files:

eg:
07/15/05 12:26:07 10.1.2.99 0000804571 Requested http://website/address/page.aspx
07/15/05 12:27:08 10.1.2.99 0000804571 Traffic 490 17723 12042 0 61s
07/15/05 12:27:08 10.1.2.99 0000804571 Terminated exit code 2

and what is the max http request size that wingate 6.0.3 can process?

a vendor has a web form that my users have to fill in for on going cust feed back and for some strange reason they put a hidden form element (perhaps for a random ID) that contains a string of 14235 chars.!?! and I'm getting time out issues...

If I were to guess Wingate is throwing this out as a malformed or possibly malisious request.

any Ideas???

You can use NetPatrol in conjunction with Wingate - together they can do this kind of thing.

Hi

There shouldn't be any limit on the POST data size that WinGate will handle. The client will set a Content-Length, and then any data received should just be piped through to the server.

Adrien/Genie

Thanks for your quick response.

If you could contact me off forum, could I get you to give this form a try. I can get this to work if I set my browser to not use the proxy, but if I set my browser to use the proxy, then I experience the error.

Thanks in advance
