I got a direction connection to the DSL router around the DHCP server. Still could not connect.
I disconnected the computer at office 1 and was then able to connect.
Read about the identical gateway issues and changed the subnet settings on all (13) machines in office 1 to a different sub. And it worked! All three machines now see each other. I do seem to be having some issues with one particular type of application (the one I need this for the most) and that starts to pull the files over and then pauses. Then the wingate tree collapses and re-expands. A few seconds later I get a message that says"Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Device\LanmanRedirector\Computer1\PNTDATA\PROSPECT.TMP. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."
I was able to just "move" the file, and several others across the network, but because it is used to repopulate a list on this end of the machine it doesn't do me much good to bring it over that way. So far though everything else seems to be working.
VNC should be operable at the IP from yesterday, now ending in .103
I can browse files and until office 1 kicked me out (going to be uninstalling Norton from that one tomorrow) I was able to see all computers.
The file transfer issue I reference above did not occur between host and office 1 on during an identical test.
Any ideas on the file loss?
Also, this Lynksys router has pinging blocked, is that an issue or does it ping through the tunnel?
I can see light at the end of the tunnel!
