Winsock users time ban not working

Postby I_Need_help » Aug 08 05 1:27 am

Wingate 5.2.3
Hi
I have assumed users that are time restricted in WWW and winsock proxys however if their is an existing winsock connection open before it enters the banned time they are not kicked off! they can continue to use it!

How can I change it so any sessioned for a group "noaccess" is kicked off?

thanks

There is no way to "kick off" a session that is connected, unless you do it manually. Once the user has exceeded their limits they will be prevented from beginning a new session, but a current session will not be terminated until they close it.

You could decrease your time-out values to end their sessions sooner, this may require them to log in more frequently though.

Thanks, could I write a batch file that either just stops and then restarts the winsock service in wingate or stops and re starts the whole wingate engine, may be using the "at" command to run it?

if so what would the syntax be?

Thanks

WG has a built in scheduler that can start and stop selected services. The scheduler can be set to run at predetermined times. This might do what you want.
