Global Ban List

Postby matrixthe » Sep 22 05 5:46 pm

Hi guys, recently I banned a url during a session in the gatekeeper, it says that the url was banned using the global ban list which is supposed to be located in the system policies on the users tab, however when I tried to unblock it I wasn't able to see and free it. Where is it anyway? I seem to be lost at this global ban policy, I know how to use it on proxy but its not there. Furthermore is this effective without using proxy server to ban other sites and files?

If you go into System Policies (User Pane) and open the "Everyone" recipient for the "Users can access services" policies. You will find it on the ban list tab of that policy.

It's usefulness depends on how you have your policies setup. For a ban in there to be effective the proxy policies must required system policies to be granted as well.
