'Load balancing' through Wingate

Postby ekkas2 » Sep 27 05 12:24 am

I use latest WG and want to do something...
1Xinternal LAN card to local LAN
4-in-1 NICs on PCI slot
On each of the 4 NIC I'll have a 512k ADSL connection

1)Can I tell WG to route all clients (from LAN) with vertain IP range to WAN NIC1, all with another range IP to WAN2, etc. ? (Without enabling authentication)
OR
2) Can I say all port 80,443, etc. go to WAN1;
port 21, 25, 110 to WAN2, etc. ?

What would be easiest or better ?

The problem is I have a Linksys router that currently 'intelligently' combine the WAN ports bandwidth into one going to Wingate, but secure sites log users off randomly and if I supply router with one WAN line it all works, but slow. So I'd like Wingate to 'group' IPs to dedicate them to one WAN line as I suspect some secure sites frown upon one session coming from different IPs.

Anyone's thoughts on this ?

Thanks

Hi

If you are able to set up your clients to use a proxy, then you can set up 4 WWW proxies, and specify each one to go out a different gateway. That would be the only way with WinGate (current version ) that you could associate clients with the same gateway (which you would need to keep sessions going on servers using sessions).
