can't restrict users internet

Postby ferhad » Dec 08 04 2:26 am

I am using WinGate v5.0. Cant restrict users from accessing internet. All users have access to internet althought I gave access only to 5-6 user. What should I do ?
Also would like to say that when I am trying to disable some user in drop-down menu WinGate proposes Disable Guest (for all users). When I am disabling Guest user internet closing for all users.

How are your users connecting through WinGate? (Just so we know where to set the appropriate policies) [NAT / WGIC / Proxy]

Hi Pascal
Thank you very much for paying attention to my question I have already solved this problem. Now I would like to prevent users from downloading some file types. I think it may be achived via filters in WinGate. See my next question.

Sorry, Monday morning. Back in the office. Glad to see you got it sorted. I assume you did this by configuring the WWW Proxy Service policies, then? Or did you use System Policies? (Just for other users who might read this post)

Cant restrict users from accessing internet

Postby TeddyAD » Oct 28 05 6:12 am

Can you please post simple detailed instruction on how to restirct certain users from accesing interent ? I did read in this forum about configuring WWW proxy service policies but no further guides. Is WGIC a must to implement same ? and if so I can install on all clients..
