Problems with WinGate, MS VPN and Networkneighborhood

Hi,

Me and my friend have permanent VPN-Connection, established over the internet. He has 3 PCs at home. One of them is running Win 2003 Server, where he installed a MS VPN server. I also have 3 PCs at my home. All of them use WinXP Pro. I use Wingate 5.0 (NO VPN-version) on my first PC, which has 2 NICs. The first one is for Internet (Cable-Modem) and the other one for my LAN (SMC-Switch). This PC is my Server. Here I created Client-VPN-Connection to my friend.

My private LAN is working properly and connecting to friends VPN-Server also works. BUT there are few problems:

1. AFTER establishing VPN-Connection browsing my Network-Neighborhood is too slow. When I cancel VPN there are no issues.

2. I cant see my friends computers in my Network-Neighborhood. WHY??
I can ping them with their IPs and i can find them using their IPs but not using their hostnames. i can also rich his shared folders after finding his computer using IPs.

3. i have no access to his LAN from other computers in my LAN. Pinging his LAN-IPs also dont works. --->> i can ping and rich his computers only from my server where VPN-connection was established. THIS IS MY BIGEST PROBLEM.

As you can see we are using two different segments:
i use 192.168.1 and he uses 192.168.2

From this PC i can rich all his computers but from other two machines which standardgateway and dns-server are pointed to my server ip 192.168.1.100 i have no access.

HOW can i "bridge" my LAN and VPN-connection, PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS. THANKS A LOT.

ps: In Wingate i allready enabled support for multiple subnetworks,
relay for UDP broadcast packets and support for default
routes.

if my routing table can give you more info, ask please.
(my other machines have following IPs: 192.168.1.110 and 192.168.1.130)

Can you help me on how to setup the connection from the Wingate 5.0 firewall to be able to connect to the Win 2003 VPN Server using PPTP.... What ports to open, how to configure it?....

If you use the NAT connection method, you won't need to do any configuration on your WinGate server. The NAT connection method requires at least:

One network card and one modem.
Or
Two network cards.
