System Error after 6.1 upgrade

Postby matrixthe » Nov 15 05 9:31 pm

Hi guys, I've upgraded my 6.0.4 to 6.1.0 and after a few hours my server's monitor turned black and unresponsive. I had to restart my system to make it operational again. After a few hours again the same problem occurs. I removed 6.1.0 and reinstalled 6.0.4, I was surprised to see that it didn't have the same problem that of 6.1.0. Is there a bug here?

Hi

That doesn't sound good.

Do you have an unusual amount of LAN traffic with WinGate 6.0.1 running, or if you look in Task Manager, on the performace tab, does the kernel memory "nonpaged" amount keep getting bigger and bigger?

How is CPU usage on that machine?

Yes, my lan has a very large amount of traffic because it is on a academe environment and yes the kernel memory "nonpaged" amount kept growing when I tried to recreate it with a spare server. Why is this happening, in 6.0.4 I didn't have any problems like this. I only use wingate 6.0.4 or 6.1.0 on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, and AVG Anti-virus installed on it.

CPU usage only peaks at 55% during 6.1.0 operation.
