Proxy to porxy

Postby rajagopal » Mar 06 06 11:30 pm

Hi,

I wanted to know whether wingate can be used to redirect all the web traffic that its generating to a different proxy on the internet?
If yes then can this be supported by a example.

Thanks in advance.

If I understand you correctly you want to cascade all traffic originating from the LAN behind WinGate to another proxy on the Internet?

If this is the case, easily. The first thing to do is ensure that the traffic will be going through WinGate. The easiest is to intercept NAT connections (Sessions tab of the WWW Proxy Service in WinGate). That way no clients can get past WinGate. (Alternative is configured / auto configured direct proxy connections in the browser).

Now what you do is switch to the Connection tab of the WWW Proxy Service. There you can see an option for "Connections to servers are made: " which you want to set to "Through cascaded proxy server". Simply setup the correct server ip / port combination and all should be sweet.
