WWW Proxy, 2 Internet Connections & Win2003

Postby SShowron » Apr 06 06 6:04 pm

Got a question.

I just download the trial of Wingate, to see if it would do what I needed.

I have a server, running windows2003.
Two internet connections (one cable and one ADSL).

Internet access is provided to the LAN via Window's routing & remote access via the cable interface.

I set up Wingate, created a WWW Proxy, set it to port 8080 and binded it to the ADSL's gateway. However when I set my browser to the proxy, wingate recieves the request however all traffic still goes out through the cable.

Am I doing something wrong, or does wingate not like Routing & Remote access or something.

Any help would be welcomed.

This is not correct - you have to bind your proxy on the LAN adapter (unless you want to create an open proxy) and if you want to use only ADSL adapter for outbound traffic, you have to set gateway selection through this adapter.

thats what I meant, its listening on my lan adapter and set to go out through the ADSL interface but it isn't working (just goes through the cable anyway)

If you can export the entire registry branch HKLM/Software/QBIK Software/Wingate we would be able to see your setup.

Do you have an email where I can send you the new driver to test? What OS are you using?

Erm... Hold on a second - do you have ENS installed and do you have ENS activated?

Aye. I should've asked you about that straight away - yes, gateway selection requires ENS to be installed.

I did mention that in my first post.

- I'll reinstall then (it won't affect my trial will it?)

Sorry, my bad - didn't notice that. No, it does not affect your license - all you have to do is to re-activate the license once you install Wingate again.
