Sharing with a Mac

Nov 29 03 9:41 am

How can I make wingate share with a Mac I have putted under tcp/ip configuration to get an IP automattically and it does get an Ip and everything seems fine, but when running explorer on the Mac it just tells me the server could not be found, I tried this same configuration without wingate and sharing thru a PC and it worked, now I need to share via wingate and it doesn´t.

Can anyone help me?

Hi, the easiest way to get this working is with DHCP as you are trying to do.
It looks like there is some problem on your Mac with this configuration.
You need to open the Mac networking properties and see if you can find an option to 'Release/Renew' the IP address.
If you can't find this, or it doesnt work, try manually entering the required TCP/IP details.

Gateway IP: This is the IP of the WinGate machine, typically 192.168.0.1
DNS Server: The WinGate IP again
IP Address: Enter an IP address that is not used else where on your network. If the WinGate machine has the IP 192.168.0.1, try 'pinging' an IP in the same subnet, eg '192.168.0.20', from the WIntgate machine.
If there is no responce, then it is safe to use that IP.
Network Mask: This will probably be set automatically, but if not, it should be 255.255.255.0 if your network has a 192.168 numbering.

Try that ans see how you go.
