Hello,

we got a problem with the wingate engine: Wingate "stops working" several times a day, it seems, that the engine "hangs":
-Wingate is not responding any more
-We can't connect via Gatekeeper
-We need to kill and restart Wingate engine

Our Installation:
-Windows 200 server
-Wingate 6.1.1
-Puresight Addin
-250 licensens

I noticed a memory leak problem with wingate 6.1.1 in this forum, but this is not the problem, wingate.exe uses only about 20 MB in that cases.

LockAnalyserDumpFileEng.txt is getting quite big (about 2MB, we delete that file manually)

Hi

What sort of hardware is WinGate running on - those logs look like a highly loaded system...

Hello,

thanks fpr your answer.

Wingate is running on:

-HP DL320 G2 Server
-Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.66 Ghz
-1 GB RAM

other Software running on this server:
-MDeamon
-KAV Antivirus (E-Mail Scanning)
-Mcafee Antivirus (Client only)

CPU Usage about 20-30%

we would appreciated if you could give us some hints to solve the problem.

We did not monitor any performance problems on this machine. Anyway, can you identify the "bottle neck" from the logs?

Hi,

Just a thought, try turning off all unnecessary logging, caching, unused services and perhaps reducing the history size too.

Hi, Linus

There is nothing in this log that can be identified as a source of the problem. I would say, Nev is right - try turning off non-essential functional bits and see if the performance improves.

ok, thank you.

Unfortunately we need Logging for WWW and FTP Proxy service.
All other logging functionality is turned off now, but there wasn't much to log anyway...
