WinGate on one NIC

Postby dirtchamber » Sep 16 06 4:05 am

Hi all. I know this is possible, but I really don't know how to do it. How can I use WinGate on a server PC that has only one NIC? The scenario is like this: the network card has a static IP assigned for Internet, so no DHCP. The IP is in this form: 86.104.100..... The other computer, the client, has a LAN IP (like 192.168.100.100), so I assume that the server PC should have an IP like this too. I know how to add a second IP in the TCP/IP protocol, but I don't know how to setup WinGate so it will work.

Thank you.

Hi

WinGate 6.1 supports single-NIC NAT, so I'd recommend upgrading to that. You won't need to assign another IP address unless you are using multiple logical subnets (i.e. multiple IP ranges) on your LAN.
