Windows 2000 VPN behind Wingate

How can I configure Windows 2000 server VPN over internet
behind Wingate. I tried, but when I started Windows 2000 RAS/VPN
my internet connection/sharing stopped working. When uninstalling
Windows 2000 RAS/VPN internet connection/sharing started working again!
What I'am I doing wrong ?

Please confirm whether WinGate is installed on the 2000 Server that you are setting up the VPN on. Or is it "behind" the WinGate server on the LAN?

OK, its intended to be on the same machine as Wingate.

Have you tried setting up the vpn BEFORE you install/setup Wingate?

No have not tried that. Would it make any differance? Don't realy want to go through the trouble of uninstalling wingate unless I know it solves the problem. Any Qbick staff that has anything to say about this?

Hi,

Why don't you stop the WinGate engine, and then try?

You may need to:

1. Confirm it is safe to drop the WinGate firewall when you are testing.
2. There is a setting in WinGate that can keep the firewall up when you stop the engine; you will want to confirm it is off
