Remote Admin Through Remote Connection Service

Postby MAVickers » Apr 08 07 6:45 am

Hi,

I tried searching through the forum to see if this has been asked by anybody else but I could not find a thread. If one exists please kindly point me towards it.

I have WinGate 6.2 (purchased license) installed on a Win2K3 server. I can connect to it just fine through GateKeeper on the box but would like to be able to admin the service from my laptop when I'm out and about... or even in the next room from the server.

I added a binding for the remote control service to allow a connection on any adapter using any IP address. I then restarted the WinGate service.

When I try to connect to it using the machine name or IP address of the box it connects but the control panel is blank. This occurs when trying to connect to WinGate either through my laptop or on the box itself. When I switch back to using localhost on the box I see everything.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

You need at least a Pro license version to do this. http://www.wingate.com/wingate-licensing.php

You can try "Remote Desktop Connection" for your "next-to-server-room" connection [LAN].
