MAC Address filtering/redirection

Does wingate have the capability to use a MAC address to recognize a user, and if not are there plans for its implementation in the future?

You cannot assume a user based off the MAC address - because if the LAN Client goes through a router to get to WinGate, then WinGate's ARP-cache query for the clients MAC address will get the routers MAC address.

There is a policy option for MAC addresses though, so you could use that if you would like to lock down the access more. i.e. when a user authenticates, the policy can also be set to specify the MAC address the user is connecting from.
