Hello,
We have some problems using Wingate v. 6.2.0 when we download a file via FTP using Internet Explorer, some files are downloaded corrupted; if we check inside them we found that they are corrupt by this:
HTTP/1.0 200 Document Follows
Date: Fri, 11 Jan 2008 08:07:16 GMT
Server: WinGate Engine
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
Content-Length: 4218816
We don’t use the WinGate Internet Client, we’re using the connection settings in Internet Explorer to use our proxy server. The problems never happens if we use one FTP client application (for example, FileZilla).
You can try to reproduce the issue by downloading this file:
ftp://ftp.finanze.it/pub/mod2008/Contro ... A9_150.exe
What is the cause of this problem and how can we resolve it?

We will try reproducing this bug, just a few quick questions:
- Does this bug appear if you connect from a different client machine?
- If you connect/download this file directly from Wingate machine, is the file still corrupted?

Hello genie,
yes, the problem also appears if we try to download from different computers.
If we download the file from our proxy machine the file is not corrupted if our Internet Explorer settings exclude Wingate (if we connect IE directly to internet); if we set Internet Explorer to use Wingate, the file is downloaded corrupted..

that data you posted (200 OK etc) is that from the file itself, or from a network capture?
When using FTP through a proxy from a web browser, the web browser actually uses HTTP commands (like GET ftp://some.server/somefile HTTP/1.0). This then goes through the WWW proxy, and the proper response is to have an HTTP response code with some headers.
If for some reason that response is getting into the file on the browser, that means either
a) the response and headers are not being sent correctly to the browser, or are being sent twice.
b) the browser is not properly parsing the response.
Since this is IE, and we haven't seen this problem before, I suspect a.
Are you able to run a packet capture from the client machine when this happens? There are some free packet capturing products around (such as wireshark) that will allow you to see exactly what is going on.

The corruption data (HTTP/1.0 200 Document..) is from inside the file itself.

The corruption data begins after the checksum bytes, at the start of Data segnent.

The corruption data begins after the checksum bytes, at the start of Data segnent.
Have you any suggestion for resolve this problem?
