I run a 100 pc cybercafe. One two specific features that caught my interest in Wingate, web caching (proxy) and DNS service. I downloaded the latest version of Wingate (6.2.2) by and large it's working well. My setup is pretty much as in Scenario 1, but I have manually set IP addresses. Am using WinXP Sp2 as much as my clients. Its a simple PtP network.
Unfortunately, if I set the client DNS to the Wingate Internal IP address, clients can't browse until I reset it the one provided by our WAN providers. Also if I have the "Transparent Redirection" enabled at the Web Proxy Session, then no client can browse. I have even changed the settings in my Internet Option, Connection to use the Wingate proxy server without success. Am looking to this two features to make my bandwidth more efficient, and improve my customers browsing experience.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
