connecting 2 or more dialup to make faster speeds?

Postby commotion » Oct 09 08 6:51 pm

Hello there,
Here is my background.
I live in a area that i can't get highspeed. i tried Wildblue Sat and Directway. and i also dont get good cell signal.
and i want to be able to use the 4 phone lines we have here at the house.

my setup is a
windows 2003 server (4 modems installed and working)
Domain Controller and DNS also Installed on the server
i have a few workstations that connect via Switch
Wingate 6.2.2 Installed
I got the other workstations to be able to get out to the internet through the server

Just not the 4 at the same time it only uses one dialup connection.

anyway i need a step by step to be able to use all 4 connections to make the overall network speed faster.

I hope this is possable

and i hope to get it setup before my 30day trial runs out so i know if i want to buy it or not..

anyway thanks for looking at my post and thanks for your help..

Hi,

You can combine multiple modems in rotation using the Gateways tab of any service that supports it. The WWW Proxy is the most used service where gateway rotation will really help.

- GateKeeper -> Services tab -> WWW Proxy server -> Gateways
- Change the connection scheme to 'Use all specified connections in rotation'
- Click Add
- Select a modem
- Click OK
- Repeat to add your other three modems to the list
- When done, click Apply or OK to finalise the change

You will need to ensure that all http traffic is being sent through the WWW Proxy, so I recommend enabling a transparent intercept on the proxy.

- GateKeeper -> Services tab -> WWW Proxy server -> Sessions
- Enable 'Intercept connections made via ENS...'
- Add port 80 to the list of intercepts

Sorry for the delay. We're closed over the weekend. Could you create a new support ticket at the online help desk and include the following information please. This will let us see your current WinGate configuration, and provide a glimpse of your network topography.

http://support.qbik.com/index.php?_a=tickets&_m=submit

1. WinGate Registry
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Registry

2. WinGate Config Report
GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Config Report

3. ipconfig/all from one LAN Client
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all >> C:\ipa-client.txt

4. ipconfig/all from the WinGate Server
(Windows) Start menu --> Run --> cmd --> ipconfig/all >> C:\ipa-server.txt
