No SSL with wingate 6.5.3 or 6.6.0

Postby sigih. » May 19 09 10:00 pm

Hello folks !

After few hours wingate 6.5.3.1268 or 6.6.0.1272 stops SSL connections and time synch.
The ports 13 and 443 are "dead" - maybe also other ports I didn't found.

In gatekeeper I see that the clients wants to connect to the internet sites but after a few seconds the connection stops and no message came back ...

On all systems I use XP prof. + SP3 in german.
Downgrading to 6.5.2.1217 fixes the problem - no changes in gatekeeper - only downgrading to the old Wingate version and restarting the PC.
Upgrading to 6.5.3 or 6.6.0 always the same problem.

The WWW Proxy in 6.6.0.1272 is very good ... but cause of the bug's not to use at the moment for me.

Has anybody the same problems or is there a fix out ?

How is Wingate configured? Do you use plain NAT or proxied SSL connections (as in using CONNECT method)?

Have noticed this as well since using 6.5.3, only SSL involved.

Reduced throughput and may time-out eventually, have had to move all SSL to NAT.

I use only plain NAT.
Proxied SSL connections ? - Never used before and not so easy to do - cause we have a few applications in the net using different ports - 44x also ...

... but also port 13 for timesync isn't working - also via NAT.

We will run the tests locally, but will you be able to capture traffic from the Wingate machine - both internal and external adapters, port 443 (or 13) and email it to me?

@ genie

Sorry but it's not possible at the moment cause the I-net Server is downgraded to 6.5.2 and under "load" by the users ...
But I've a lot of LOG's from the "action" day ...

It's on the way.

Sigi, is there a chance that you capture traffic through port 443 for both internal and external adapter with one of the non-functional builds? Also, if you capture it, set the sniffer to capture ARP traffic as well.

@genie !

Is there a hidden debug mode in Wingate to give you further information ?
If not would be a nice feature for your developers for Wingate 7 ...

Hi, Sigi

In regard to the hidden debugging option - it will be available in one of the forthcoming releases - the plans are. Now, I have sent you two drivers for checking - can you, please, try them and see if one of them helps?
