We're in the process of changing our ISP but having trouble with the conversion.
When we connect to the new ISP with Wingate the DNS requests routinely take 6-7 seconds according to the Wingate DNS logs.
This has the effect of pages loading very slowly depending on how many different server names need to be resolved.
Connecting a computer directly to the ISP's router gives normal performance loading pages.
If I manually set the DNS server to our ISP on a machine on our network behind Wingate it also gives normal performance.
I believe the problem lies with the Wingate DNS Service or Resolver but I can not figure out how to fix the problem.
Adding the ISP's DNS server to the resolver doesn't help
The network card connected to the router is the only one with TCP/IP settings with a DNS server, all internal cards have none.
We have an AD DNS server on our network with a forwarder to the Wingate machine.
We were running Wingate 6.1.1 but I've upgraded to 6.6.4 but that has not solved the problem.
I am going to try adding the AD DNS server to the list of DNS servers not to contact in Advanced options but I don't think this will work.
Any ideas?
