Intergrate Wingate with Websense cloud

Postby IT Team » Feb 15 14 12:03 am

Hi,

I am currently in the process of setting up wingate version 8.
My endpoint clients can connect to the proxy, which connects to an upstream proxy to websense cloud, and users can access the internet.

There are certain sites which I do require that do not need to go via websense.

How can I forward a request to fetch a pac file from the websense cloud URL from the wingate proxy?
Or I there a way where I can specify in the wingate proxy to allow certain URLs to not use the upstream proxy, but have direct access.

Thanks

Hi

it is also possible to set on a request-by-request basis whether to use an upstream proxy or not.

To do this, you would use a flow-chart policy attached to the ProxyRequest event. In that policy you can use the Connection Control item to specify upstream proxy (or none). Then the policy can evaluate the destination, and if it shouldn't go via the upstream proxy, it can set the connection method to direct connection (thereby overriding the configuration in the service, which is the default config for a session).
