Uninstall doesnt work

Hello Forum,

I have the same problem like here.
I hve installed WinGate8.2.5.4733-USE.exe on Windows 7 machine with the free 3 user license. If I try to uninstall, I see the first Screen "If Wingate is currently running, please close....", then I click next and the uninstaller minimizes to the taks bar (no visible GUI anymore) and one CPU core has 100% load. Nothing happen anymore. I tried install it again and uninstall, but it didnt work.

The Win 7 machine is completely new, only Antivir and VMWare and OpenVPN is installed. My guess is that there is a collusion with OpenVPN.

WinGate creates a Windows-Restore Point automatically. Gad sake I have not deactivated this feature. So on my side the problem is solved.

I think its a problem with a OpenVPN and the installed network devices, because OpenVPN doesnt work anymore after installing Wingate. The OpenVPN connection could be established for a short time (Icon went green for 3 seconds) and than the connection broke up.

Go to control panel-Administration-Services- and find there qubik wingate ....... go to enter with name and set there locale services and del * and live password blank and press ok. Comp says you then sevice wingate has start as local service.And don't forget restart windows. Now full uninstall will work.

No, I don't have OpenVPN and it still does this. It's just bad programming.. anyone get this to work? How come no staff is helping? Is this a trap because we didn't buy your software? :/

Sorry you've been having problems uninstalling and with responsiveness on this forum. If you've not had any success with other methods on the forum in the posts you've replied to, then probably the best way to proceed is for one of our tech support staff to remotely access your system and remove the software for you.

I'd suggest opening a support ticket by emailing support@wingate.com

Hi!

I have the exact same problem, after launching Wingate unintsall from Add and Remove programs in Control Panel, I press next and the Wingate uninstall minimizes and nothing else happens. If I try to reboot, the PC just sit there with "rebooting" and the circle animation.

Hi,

Normally this problem is due to the driver not uninstalling properly. Can you please re-install WinGate and reboot. Then log in to the console and go to Control Panel::Extended Networking. Set the driver not to load at startup and reboot. Now run the uninstaller again. This time it should uninstall successfully.
