Hey Guys,
I'm trying to configure one of my FTP clients to work through WinGate but I need to know the correct format for sending FTP proxy connections through.
This is the discussion I've had with them.
WinGate is working properly because FileZilla works, I think they just need to add the correct configuration for the proxy, they already have 10 options so they're willing to add another. All available settings https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing
Rather than explain it all, just find all the info in emails here. Read from the bottom up.
Hi Thanasi,
That would be great. It would be great to include the specific needs for your server as part of the request if one needs to be filed! :)
Best,
Aaron

Hey Aaron,
I just this error.
I will research if the proxy needs the ACCT and get back to you.
I’m using Wingate, which then has an upstream configured to our corporate proxy and I’m not sure what that one is running.
Cheers

Hi Thanasi,
Thanks for getting back to me. Looking at the settings in FileZilla I’m surprised that none of the existing Transmit settings work. Could you please try Type 2 again and see if you can connect?
If not, do you know if this server requires the ACCT (account) setting? This is the only part I’m not sure if Transmit supports.
Best,
Aaron

I know, I tried them all. Doesn't work. None of them seem to match the method FileZilla uses.
I think it will be easy to add :)

Hi Thanasi,
Nice to hear from you. Transmit already supports a number of different FTP proxies, you can configure them via the Advanced tab of the preferences.
Let me know if this allows you to get everything connected!
Best,
Aaron

Hi there,
I have setup a FTP proxy at work and it has upstream proxy configured so it will send all my FTP traffic through out proxy server.
I have tested the configuration with Filezilla which works fine.
However I can’t see the correct proxy format in Transmit. This should be easy to add.
I have attached a screenshot showing the correct format which FileZilla uses and works with.
Thank you.

Hello Thanasi,
Thanks for taking the time to contact us with your questions about Transmit. Unfortunately our app does not currently supporting connecting via a HTTP/1.1 proxy.
This is something that we hope to add in a future update; however, I cannot say for certain when it will be supported.
Sorry for any inconvenience and please let me know if you have any other questions I can answer!
Best,
Aaron

Hello,
I’ve tried configuring my proxy in Preferences > Advanced. I’ve tried every type but nothing works.
I also tried in FileZilla which says in its settings “HTTP/1.1 using CONNECT method”.
I can’t see a similar option in your Proxy Settings, could you please add it?
I get error “Could not connect to server “ip address”. Control connection times out.”
IP adress being the IP of whatever server I try connect to.
Thanks
