Postby ulenius » Mar 19 04 8:58 pm

HI!
I am opening ports on my network (in Wingate) but Lan scan do not show more open ports than in the standard firewall configuration (and not even all of them).
I have restarted engine and sytem but it's no chanage. What to do??

Scan result depend on your system' settings - if you have no ports opened and your OS is tuned to be terse, it would not reply with RST on closed ports and your scanner would show nothing (stealth).

Aye, you can also run netstat -an |more and check the ports in LISTENING state - Portlist application (part of NetPatrol installation) can do that even better for it reports the applications using the ports.

CAN I RUN A MSN Web cam with sound on this?

HOW CAN I INTERACT WITH MY SYSTEM AND USE THIS TO SE IF PORTS ARE WORKING OR NOT. When I start MSN with cam it says that there are technical difficulties. Can I see what ports it attempts to use in some way?

If I want to open UDP 5000-65235, can I see that an what does the state tell??

Dear Open UDP ports range from 1024 - 65535 and your web cam should work with MSN.
