Wingate not working client PC with 'ISABEL'

Postby djoncker » Mar 20 04 2:58 am

Excuses for my English ( I'm from Belgium ! )

In our company we are working with a program called 'ISABEL'.
This program make connections with some financial Banks.
We have a lan with a server which is connected to the internet ( ADSL ).
On the server Wingate is installed.
On the client PC's I installed Wingate client.
I'm not able to run Isabel on the client PC because :

( info from the company who made the program ISABEL ) :

In order to be able to connect to the Isabel servers via the Internet, some specific TCP ports need to be opened OUTBOUND. Here below are listed the TCP ports which need to be configured for the respective Isabel applications mentioned earlier. This information is particularly relevant for connections made from behind a firewall or via a Proxy that requires
port mapping.
Mandatory services are services supporting the core functionalities of the product. The ports used by these services must be configured properly.
Please note that the configuration requirements of these services may be changed without prior notice. In case of doubt the IP address can be checked by resolving the host names:
proxy.ssl.isaserver.be (current IP address: 195.122.99.240) and CardActivator.isabel.be
(current IP address: 195.122.111.250).
Isabel Business suite 5.0 - Isabel WebSign 5.0
Mandatory Services
SERVICE Destination URL IP address PORT
Service1 = Isabel basic service ms1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7091
Service2 = Isabel basic service upg1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7099
Service3 = Isabel basic service tls1a.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7098
Service4 = Isabel basic service ds1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7095
Service5 = Isabel basic service ds1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7096
Service6 = Isabel basic service www.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7097
Service7 = Isabel basic service usr1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7090
Service8 = Isabel basic service www.ssl.myisabel.be 195.122.99.240 7089
Service9 = Isabel basic service ds1.ssl.isaserver.be 195.122.99.240 7094

( End information )

So , i made tcp-mapping services in wingate on the server for each port.
Isabel can't get through Wingate server.
Firewall build into Wingate is not installed.
Internet explorer , Outlook , Messenger etc.. is all working fine on the client PC !!!
Can You please help me to point me into the right direction to a solution ?

Thanks in advance,

Dirk Jonckers.
Groep JMD

PS maybe important ???
When i try to telnet some of the adresses from Isabel above mentioned --> I'll get connection error.
When i first try to telnet to the wingate server ( 192.168.1.1 ) i get connected to the wingate server and get the prompt from wingate.
Putting in the adresses from Isabel after this prompt get's me connected !!

Hi there

So which machine are you running the Isabel?

The client machine with WGIC(WinGate Internet Client) or the WinGate Server itself?

If you are running the Isabel application from the client machine and have disabled the WinGate firewall as you decribed, then you should not have to create TCP mappings to the bank.

In this case no ports are needing to be opened because you have disabled the Firewall. You can use WGIC, Network Address Translation (NAT)

If you wish to use TCP mappings then (as per the WinGate helpfile) you will have have to specify the IP address of the WinGate server (with corresponding "Service" port you specified ) in the Isabel software. (NOT the Banks IP)

The Banks IP will be entered with the approriate port in the "Enable default mapping to" box in the TCP link itself.

Hope this helps

Hello ,

I'm running ISABEL from the WIGC.

The problem is situated in the fact that when I open a dos-window on the WIGC ( Windows XP ) and I use for example next command :

telnet ms1.ssl.isaserver.be 7091

The system says : Can't make connection with the host on port 7091 - The connection is failed....

So the people from Isabel are saying : So long you can't make a connection with telnet come above , Isabel is not working in the right way !!

So , please can you help me ???

Hi there Dirk

So the Isabel software is configured on the WGIC machine. Does it have its own connection dialog/application interface that you can use to connect. Or does it require you to connect through Telnet?.

As a suggestion you could include the Isabel.exe in the application list in the WGIC applet and set it to Global access.

And as I mentioned in my earlier post if you have created/ or are using TCP mappings then you should be connecting on the client machine using the IP address of the WinGate server with the approriate service port you have configured for the TCP mapping.

e.g telnet 192.168.4.1(this is WinGate servers internal IP) 7000(this is the "service" port chosen in the TCP mapping.)

Do not confuse this port with the one that WinGate Server connects to the bank with (as specified in the "enable default mapping" section of the TCP mapping.)

Hi,

Install the firewall and open all ports outbound.
I had a similar problem, Windows update would not work.
That fixed it.

Installeer de firewall van WinGate en open alle poorten van LAN naar Internet en vergeet de proxyserver.
Ik had eenzelfde probleem, Windows update wilde niet werken.
Dit loste het op.

Succes.
