Windows 2003 Server / WG 5.2.3

Postby simon.fking » Apr 14 04 1:52 pm

Hi,

Is there anybody using Windows 2003 Server with Wingate installed? If so, how does it run and what problems did you encounter?

Hi Simon,

The WinGate 5.2.3 has been tested quite extensively with Windows 2003 (.Net server) here in the lab with few problems.

As with the other MS Operating Systems we test WinGate against, we suggest to users that you have the most current drivers for the type of Network interfaces in your machine, and of course that the machine hardware meet the software requirements.

Apart from that you shouldnt have problems with general scenarios when trying to run WinGate on .Net server.

Regards
Erwin

Thanks Erwin

It seems that I will upgrade our server here soon, I wanted to make sure there were not any compatibility issues first. Otherwise people get annoyed with any server downtime, so it is something i try to minimise.

Hi Simon,

we have Win 2003 Advanced Server running with Wingate. We also have the latest drivers installed as suggested by Qbik. However the ENS/NAT option does not work for us and no solution has yet been found. The problem is that with the ENS driver installed and active the whole network becomes invisible and no network connections are possible. Other than this Wingate works fine. If you don't require the ENS option you should be fine. Should you require the ENS option you should stay with Wingate versions earlier to 5.0.9 which should be working even with the ENS driver.
