WinGate Proxy service HTTP1.1 Compliancy

Postby rayv3n » Apr 16 04 10:39 am

Hi all!

I need to find out whether or not wingate proxy supports version http1.1 fully or like most other vendors http1.0 with support for some http1.1 headers? If in the later case I would like to know what http1.1 headers are supported?

thanks in advance!

Hi,

At the moment we support 1.1 but not if you're passing your connection through the proxy, ie a NAT connection will support it but a TR'd connection or a proxy connection will not.

Our upcoming release will fully support 1.1.

Regards,

Matt

We are mainly concerned with the proxy only scenario, no NAT, no Routing.

Can you tell me which headers you support in your current implementation?

The reason I ask...

We have in house apps that use certain features within the HTTP1.1. Example

Proxy-auth
pipelining
connection:close
host <---pretty much everyone supports this now
Trans-encoding: chunked

As well as a few more.

thanks again!

We will support all of those that you listed except for the pipelining.

Which others are you interested in?

Hi Mat,

Would it be possible to get a list of what you do support? Again no one support http1.1 that fact that you guys are working on it surprises me quite frankly. The problem I face is that all vendors support http1.0 with extensions. As I've explained earlier what I need to know is what extensions you support now. If you have a time frame for supporting the rest of it cool!

Again thank you sorry to be a pest, just want to make sure my product supports your product and vice versa!
