Is Wingate what I'm looking for ?

Postby blu » May 26 04 9:13 pm

Dear all,
I'm looking for a proxy server with NAT. This is because my ISP let me use maximum 4 PC's connected to internet and I want to share internet connection with more computers.

My ISP is connected to internet with a NAT and I have an internal dynamic IP. I have a main PC with two LAN, one connected to ISP, the other to internal network.

I installed Wingate trial version but something won't work.
Only local network works fine (but this works fine also without Wingate).

Internet connection in available only on the PC connected directely to ISP.
DHCP cannot bind to any card. I set advanced options to set internal and external cards correctely.

How to solve ?

Should I enable HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/
services/tcpip/parameters -> IPEnableRouter key ?

Thank you for your cooperation.

No, the key is not required because Wingate uses its own internal routing. What IP addresses do you have assigned on your Wingate machine? Make sure, that Options/Advanced interfaces are marked correctly - the one looking outside is to be marked as public and not trusted, while the other one, looking inside your network is not public and trusted. Check the bindings in DHCP properties.

My ISP assign me a dynamic IP that is 10.x.x.x
Advanced options are correctely set as you indicated to me.

In DHCP binding properties sheet there are no selectable cards. I think I should see only LAN card looking inside my network. Is this correct ?

Thank you,
