Hi Simon

Should be fairly simple depending on what type of client connection method you want to use. NAT (Network Address Translation) is the easiest to configure so I will explain briefly.

On the client machine, (Im presuming you have already configured with an internal IP such 192.168.1.2 for basic TCP/IP networking ) you will need to set the Gateway and DNS entries in the network adapter properties to the internal IP address used by the WinGate machine. (An internal IP such as 192.168.1.1)

On the WinGate Machine (with USB cable modem installed)
Is it a "dial on demand", or "online all the time type" connection?.

If it is a dial on demand type connection then the dial up profile will be listed in the dialer configuration in GateKeeper. You will need to enable this profile in GateKeeper so that WinGate will use this connection to satisfy Internet requests from the client machine.

If it is an "online all the time" connection then the Network interface (with corresponding external Ip) will show up in WinGate as an external interface to be used. WinGate will use this automatically for Internet requests.

All of these points are laid out in the WinGate helpfile and further info can be found in our knowledge base on our website.

Regards
