Allowing only certain Applications to Access the Server

Postby dlcole » May 07 05 1:08 am

Hi,

I've looked for this and can't find anything on it either in WinGate, the KnowledgeBase or on the forums. I currently use WGIC and Wingate 5.2.3 and would like to setup the system to allow only certain applications to access the Internet and block anything not on the list.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

David, if you are using WGIC and have an Enterprise license you can control this from the Central Configuratin there. That even allows you to customise the message to the user. If you do not have an Enterprise license you can use the advanced filters and criterion to simply deny access, without any of the other benefits.

Otherwise, if you are using NAT or proxy the application is unknown in Wingate and it would have to be PORT based.
