Guys,

I paid for the pro version to allow me remote command shell access. I then discovered that this was only available when running on an NT derived OS and not 98SE.

Having lived with that for some time, I recently rebuilt the server and installed XP pro fully expecting to be able to use remote command shell.

Sadly, its greyed out when I log in remotely, indeed some of the ENS settings and the firewall radio buttons are also (which they were not under win98).

Any suggestions as to why this may be. I'm using assummed users and my account is in the administration group. I have no policies on the extended networking and remote control has me added, restricted by security level, default rights set to ignored.

Having paid for this some time back it would be nice to be able to use it now.

Neil,

If you're now using XP pro why not take advantage of its' built in remote admin? That way you don't really have to use the WG command shell. I know this doesn't answer your original question though.

Hi Neil,

It should be available to you with a version 6 Professional license, can you send me your WinGate Config report and I'll check your licenses for you?

You also shouldn't have a problem with firewall settings being grayed out, it sounds like your version 6 license has not been recognised.

Hi Neil,

It's probably best if you send it in as a support ticket, so you can create one of those here
