Problem with wingate 5.xx and 4.xx

I am badly stucked in a problem, my wingate engine is not starting. I have tried wingate 5.xx versions and 4.xx versions. but both giving same message after installation. " Wingate engine could not be started " and then " Connection refused by server, check server name and port number". Please help me out. I have tried it both in windows 7 and windows xp but same problem. As the problem is not comming in version 6.xx and 7.xx . but i need my work in 4.xx and 5.xx for satellite internet.
any help would be strongly appreciated.

Hi

version 5 and earlier are extremely old versions of WinGate, and are not supported on Windows 7.

Only WinGate 6.6 and later is supported on Windows Vista and later OSes.

Why can't you use WinGate 7?
